The Past Master emblem varies by jurisdiction:

  • Past Master (Without Square)

    This version omits the square and is used by many jurisdictions, including California, Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, and parts of New York. In these jurisdictions, the version with a square is typically used at the Grand Lodge level.

  • Past Master (With Square)

    This version includes the square, compass, and sextant. In some jurisdictions, it is used for lodge Past Masters. In others, it is reserved for Grand Lodge use.
